I think this place deserves a 3.5 overall. The staff were friendly and helpful. The service was quick and the table, cutlery and crockery appeared clean. However I think the food quality was not up to my expectations. I ordered the fried vegetables as a side expecting to get something light a caponata style dish. What came out was a bunch of heavily battered pseudo vegetables - the original Vegas could hardly be discerned. The dish was far too oily to be finished. I also ordered the cheese and pepper pasta. The texture of the pasta was very good and the dish was pleasantly saucy but there was just no relief to the pepper. Perhaps an issue of personal taste. I also ordered a glass of red wine and it was far below the standard I expected- very harsh and a little sour. My husband had the cabonara which was apparently satisfactory but more pancetta would have been good.

I know it’s hard to understand this but it’s been quit difficult to find a real plate of Italian pasta in Rome.. considering Rome is very touristic in the Centre and most restaurants have non Italian chefs so they pay them less to work which results in horrible pasta! But this restaurant...I have to give it to these guys... they make the most amazing plate of carbonara pasta with tonnarelli pasta though!! Request it upon ordering .. the ingredients just sit better with this pasta. Also their Bucatini all’amatriciana ... to die for! I always come here on weekends .. it’s just that good :) Enjoy guys!
